A self-proclaimed summer camp enthusiast and master of the bucket brigade, Briana spent her formative summers at a camp in Pennsburg, PA, where she built friendships that carried well past those summers. She later returned to camp as a counselor and activities director — and never really left.

Briana joined Teach For America in 2008 and spent four years teaching sixth and seventh graders reading and writing in Houston, where she also served as Department Chair and trained her ELA colleagues in Teachers College Reading & Writing Project practices. Following her time in the classroom, she held school and program leadership roles across Houston, Newark, and New York before joining Change Summer in 2019.

She now serves as Chief Advancement Officer and a member of the Pathfinder Team, where she leads fundraising strategy, manages Change Summer’s development and communications team, and oversees the relationships with donors, foundations, and corporate partners who make this work possible. Briana also founded S’more Summer, Change Summer’s consulting practice, which partners with youth-serving organizations nationwide to build more inclusive and joyful programs.

Briana holds a B.A. in International Relations with a minor in Spanish from the University of Southern California (Fight On! :v:), a certificate in Nonprofit Leadership from Rice University, and a certificate in Women in Executive Leadership from Cornell University. When she isn’t in strategy mode, you can probably find her deep in a YA novel with her rescue pup Pickles and his sibling, Niner.
